Overall, I feel as though by analysing my film using Representation, Genre and Narrative it will definitely have a positive impact on my film making skills. I'll be able to create things that break and play with the different theories that i analysed so that i create something that will keep viewers surprised and entertained and not create something where the audience knows exactly whats coming next and whats expected of the characters and therefor isn't all that interested.
Ive also learnt different codes and conventions so i now know hot to avoid using them and how to mix them up. I've also learnt how to structure things like characters so that they have more depth to them and that they're more complex while also expanding my knowledge on how a film is put into a genre and if what it has to include if i want it to fit into a specific genre.
I think that Heathers was a good choice of film to choose to analyse as it has so much complexity to it that you can go into and has really helped me gather more experience and knowledge on representation, genres and narrative in films.
